I never really “got” abstract work when I was younger. Visually speaking, I was painfully literal. Twenty or so years ago, maybe the chemistry changed in my brain, maybe I go dropped on my head, I don’t know… It started to not just make sense, but become a integral part of my work – almost like the bottleneck theory of language. Suddenly, I had things to say that could only be expressed in this way.
