It’s The End of The World As We Know It
And I feel fine? I don’t, but I’ll get into that in a moment. 2024 ended up being a busy year and I feel like I need to do a little housekeeping. I spent a lot of time traveling and gathering material for new projects. And I started volunteering at a new community darkroom here in Portland, Franklin FOTO.
Shameless plug
If you are in the area, be sure to check out Franklin FOTO. Founded by photographers Bobby Abrahamson and Jason Kaplan, FF is a community darkroom, a meeting space for photographers, a gallery, and classroom. You can also follow us on IG: @franklin.foto.pdx for all of our events including print swaps and movie nights. It’s exciting to be there for the beginning of a outlet for artists. Our hope is to build a welcoming, inclusive space for photographers to come together to learn more, develop their craft, and see amazing developing work.
Check out the opening of Portland artist, Marcieline Novatore’s new show, “Come Worry With Me”. February 1st, 5-9 p.m.

Road Songs
As a follow up to last year’s I Will Not Hurt Myself/I Will Not Hurt Others, I’ve been working on Road Songs, a collection of road trip images through the lens of music that was sung on the road, heard on the way, or was important to the journey. Over the next few months, I’ll be testing out material for a book hopefully coming next year.

TEOTWAWKI
Yeah. I don’t know about the next four years. I don’t know about the next ten years. I am terrified for my country. I am terrified for the environment. I am terrified for my friends and colleagues. I am terrified for myself. I don’t know what is coming. But I know – as a bare minimum – it’s not going to be good. The only thing I know I can do at the moment is document as a photographer and artist. I don’t know where this is going, but I feel like right now, it’s the action I can take. Stay tuned…
